The PSO's Music Director, David Harman, continues to be in great demand both as a conductor of professional orchestras and as a music educator at the university and high school levels. Professional appearances include return engagements with The Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra, The Cincinnati Symphony, The Louisville Orchestra and Louisville Opera, The Tucson Symphony, The Lake Placid Sinfonetta, Opera Theater of Rochester, and a special concert and live broadcast with the Orchestra of the Spring Festival of Contemporary Music in Ljubljana, Slovenia, under the sponsorship of Arts America.  Dr. Harman has also served as guest conductor of The Shanghai Conservatory Symphony (China), The Jamaica Orchestra for Youth (JOY) in Kingston, Jamaica, The Grand Cayman International Music Camp, and the New York All-State String Orchestra. Most recently, Mu Phi Epsilon has selected Dr. Harman as Rochester's Musician of the Year 2008 in recognition of enriching the musical life of Rochester through his work with the RPYO, PSO, and U of R River Campus Orchestras.

In addition to his duties as conductor of the PSO, Dr. Harman also holds the posts of Professor of Music and Director of Orchestral Activities at the University of Rochester River Campus and serves as Conductor and Music Director of the Rochester Philharmonic Youth Orchestra.
